Christmas Party Venue - Having the perfect Function

The year is drawing to an end and that means it is Christmas time again! A time to celebrate, to be festive, to look back on the years’ achievements and memories, and embracing the new things to come. But the best reason is the opportunity Christmas brings to spend time with your friends and family, and celebrate the past year’s achievements with your colleagues And that means you have to find a suitable Christmas venue for your Christmas party or function. Below is listed a couple of guidelines that will guide you in hosting the best Christmas party or function ever!

  1. Formulate a plan
Any successful function and party starts off with a good, well thought out and detailed plan. It makes the organising of a Christmas function even easier if the plan includes a time line at which each activity needs to be organised.
  2. Where and When
Location, Location and the date. Once you have determined the venue for the Christmas function and have confirmed a date with the venue, you can start planning the Christmas function. When booking a Christmas venue make sure that it leaves sufficient time for you to plan and organise a proper Christmas function or party.
  3. Theme
It is Christmas, so the theme is relatively easy! But try and spice up the usual Christmas theme by incorporating interesting games. You can even ask each of the guests to bring a R10 gift to be distributed amongst the guests. It is also a fun Christmas activity to have the guests decorate the Christmas tree instead of beforehand. And lastly but very importantly, no Christmas function should be without a Santa Clause. It would be perfect if one the guests could be the Santa Clause of the evening.
  4. The guest list
The guest list can be the trickiest of all. Although you would like to invite the people that are close to you, it is important those who are not so close to you but rate highly with other people. A simple guideline is to divide the guests into three groups: the people you would like and want to come, those people you probably should invite and those people you know through other commitments.
  5. Interesting Invites
Gone are the days where it is acceptable to send out an e-mail to all your guests. An invitation is something tangible and should be treated as an appetizer that will lure the guests to come to your Christmas party or function. Make it creative, interesting and a not-to-be-missed event! For bigger functions the invitations should be sent out at least six to eight weeks before the function.
  6. Catering & Alcohol
The food needs to be substantial and available throughout the evening. And it is extremely important that the food is only of the best quality. So rather spend a little bit more money on the caterers. With any function there are always a group of people that enjoy their drinks a little bit too much, so make sure there are a couple of mocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.
