The Wedding Planning Mistakes That You Cannot Afford to Make

We all have nightmares about things like tripping down the aisle or someone spilling marinara on the entire wedding party, but the truth is that when it comes to wedding disasters, it is seldom things like this that end up happening. Instead, you will find that the mistakes that can seriously derail the wedding will occur during the wedding planning stages. Wedding planning is a lot more complex than it looks, and if you are in a place where you are in the middle of it, you need to be careful. Make sure that you don't make these perilous but completely avoidable wedding planning mistakes.

Mistake 1: Making your friends work.

When you want to make sure that everyone is going to have a good time celebrating your wedding, don't put them to work. Having a friend or family member who is a photographer doesn't mean that you should push them into helping you out on your big day. Your friends and family want to help you celebrate and you should not repay them by asking them to work. On the other hand, if they offer their services as a wedding present, that is another thing entirely, but make sure that you get professionals for professional jobs.

Mistake 2: Allowing yourself to be bullied

When you are in the wedding planning stages, it is sad to say that you might run into wedding vendors that do not have your best interests at heart. For instance, you will discover that some of them will constantly push you towards the more expensive items whether they are what you need or not, or they will simply try to bulldoze you entirely. The wedding process is rather stressful and this is one kind of stress that you simply do not need. Take a deep breath and remember that you are the one in control; do not allow yourself to get pushed around!

Mistake 3: Not creating a budget

When you think about it in terms of being an event, you will find that a wedding is a fairly expensive prospect. There is a lot of work that people put into weddings, but there are halls to rent, dresses to buy and decorations and flowers to secure. Sit down with everyone who is putting money into the wedding and really work out what kind of cash you have to put out there. When you have the budget, stick with it. Make sure that you know what you are going to prioritize and what aspects of the ceremony are most important to you. This can be an essential way to make sure that you are happy both at the wedding and afterwards when you get your bill.

Mistake 4: Not communicating

No matter who is involved in the wedding, remember that you need to keep them on the same page. Good wedding planning means good communication, so take a moment to think about how you can make sure that everyone knows what they need to know. An email list can be a great way to keep everyone in touch.
