The Christmas Village at Montecasino – From 29 November to 3 December, Montecasino’s annual Christmas village is on. Filled with enchanting stalls offering gifts, food, decorations and more, this market is a family attraction that delivers the atmosphere and wonder of traditional European Christmas markets under the African sun. Pinocchio: Written and directed by Janice Honeyman, this traditional Christmas pantomime is a fun-filled thrill-ride for children and parents alike. Held at the Mandela Theatre (Johannesburg Theatre in Braamfontein), this features some of South Africa’s best-known talent! A Christmas Carol: A traditional Christmas story about warmth and redemption, this classic is brought to life to inspire the audience with the true spirit of Christmas. Experience the magic at the Pieter Toerien Theatre at Montecasino from 29 November to 7 January. Painting made easy: Held at the beautiful Pretoria Botanical Gardens, this is an entry-level painting workshop for anyone who is interested in developing their artistic skills. Come along and create a masterpiece at this family-friendly event from 11 December to 8 January. The Harties Market: Every Saturday sees crowds come and visit the acclaimed Harties Market, where you can find everything from fine art and creative crafts to delectable treats.
